Walla Walla County sergeant's K-9 dies unexpectedly
WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. - The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of their K-9, Gudy, who died unexpectedly.
Gudy died Wednesday morning at the age of nine at Washington State University Veterinary Hospital, according to a press release. Gudy had been working with the sheriff's office for six years.
Deputies said K-9 Gudy was partnered with Sgt. Dale Preas. Gudy was born in September of 2009 in Slovakia and received training in the Czech Republic.
Adlerhorst International then imported the K-9 to the United States.
The sheriff's office acquired Gudy as a donation after the Walla Walla Sheriff's Foundation purchased him with donated funds in November of 2012, the release noted. K-9 Gudy served with Sgt. Preas ever since.
"Gudy was an unconditional friend and loved the work he did. He was the best partner a guy could have," said Sgt. Preas.
K-9 Gudy is credited with tracking and finding numerous criminals in the county.
